"Black Clover" Expected To Be A Big Hit

One of the more anticipated shows for the Fall anime season is Black Clover. Black Clover is a fantasy action adventure by Pierrot, that is adapted from the original Weekly Shōnen Jump manga, created by Yūki Tabata. The show premiered earlier this week with a strong first episode. The main characters, Asta and Yuno, are reminiscent of the Naruto and Sasuke of the original Naruto series.

The series starts with the main characters as orphans abandoned at a church on the outskirts of the Clover Kingdom. Magic is common place in this world and everyone has the ability to use at least basic magic. All except one of the main characters, Asta. The ending of the episode left the audience with some nice potential to look forward to.

Personally, the only complaint I have is I feel that the character Asta is already reaching serious levels of annoying by the middle of the first episode. I am hoping that they tone his personality down a little bit within the first few episodes of the series. He reminds me a bit of Blackstar from Soul Eater. He has a loud, brash personality which can be a virtue in some situations but if they can tone him down just a bit then he will end up being a great character.

Overall, I look forward to watching this show in a season which looks to have a number of great anime series in it.
